Stain Prevention & RemoverRemoves Metal Stains and Scaling
Stain Prevention & Remover is a professional strength blend designed to remove and control metal based staining on pool surfaces as well as water discoloration. Stain Prevention & Remover also helps keep scale from forming on surfaces and reduces the likelihood of buildup in filters and on pool equipment. Both stubborn old metal stains and existing scale buildup may require a complete cleaning of the surface prior to using Stain Prevention & Remover.
Stain Prevention & Remover sequesters (picks up) the material causing metal stains and scale and holds them in solution. Dissolved metals and minerals (such as iron, calcium, manganese, and magnesium) and corrosion of metal pool fittings will often cause metal based staining and/or scaling that can be treated with this product.
If stains are not removed, they may be old and require complete cleaning of the walls or they could also be stains of a non-living organic nature (example -tannins of leaves, acorns, etc). Stain Prevention & Remover is not effective on non-living organic staining.
- Effective for removing stubborn metallic stains
- Controls hard water scaling and metal staining
- Ideal for vinyl, fiberglass, and plaster pools
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Read entire label and use strictly in accordance with precautionary statements and directions.
FOR INITIAL POOL FILLING: Adjust pH between 7.2 to 7.6. For best results, use Stain Prevention & Remover in the evening with pool pump and filter operating overnight. Add 32 oz per 20,000 gallons by premixing into plastic pail of water first. Dispense solution at deep end of pool.
Cloudiness may develop with the appearance of white flakes. This is normal, indicating Stain Prevention & Remover is working. Cloudiness will resolve with consistent filtration. If cloudiness occurs, keep pool system running until it is resolved.
FOR WEEKLY MAINTENANCE DOSAGE: Add 6 oz to 8 oz per 10,000 gallons of water. Use SeaKlear® Chitosan Clarifier weekly to keep pool water crystal clear.
HARD WATER NOTE: In areas with hard water where calcium hardness exceeds 400 ppm, it is advisable to double the dosages listed above. Do not, however, increase the dosages more than double for one application.Printable version
